Tekken ain't the only fighting game to bring back a fan favorite MILF character. Though in Mortal Kombat's case, Sindel has been featured in more recent games than Jun, but she's still a welcome addition to the roster of the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1.
Introduced in Mortal Kombat 3, the undead queen of Edenia and mother of Kitana killed herself when Shao Kahn invaded her kingdom rather than being forced into becoming his consort. Then she was resurrected and turned into one of Shao Kahn's evil pawns anyway, which went well with her sinister Bride of Frankenstein vibe. The undead thing has been a part of her character in most game's she's appeared in, including in MK9 where she infamously came back to life and slaughtered most of the main cast, and more recently in the MK11 Aftermath DLC campaign where it was revealed she was evil all along.
In the new, once again rebooted timeline of Mortal Kombat 1, Sindel is very much alive and the empress of Outworld rather than Edenia, as well as the mother of both Kitana and Mileena. This time around, Shao isn't the Kahn but an Outworld general, and both were introduced in a recent trailer. Shao now has some cool draconic horns, and Sindel's hair-raising combat looks more brutal than ever. Also, MK3's centaur miniboss Motaro makes a long-awaited return in his four-legged form, which the developers struggled to transfer to 3D, plus Deception's Konquest Mode protagonist Shujinko looking very much like Lo Pan.
Mortal Kombat 1 is out September 19, and there's a lot for the devs to reveal until then. What do you guys think of Sindel's new design, and MK1 so far? Leave your thoughts below!
