Demon-Loving Waifu A.B.A Returns to Guilty Gear
By Yung Namahage • 9 months ago

Its competitors in the fighting game scene may have dropped had entirely new titles since Guilty Gear -Strive- dropped in 2021, but that hasn't stopped Arc System Works from going hard with DLC characters and keeping the game alive 3 years later. Elphelt was added to the game just a few months ago, and now the waifu train continues with another returning fan favorite.

A.B.A is an artificially created homunculus whose creator was arrested before she was finished. When she came to be, she spent the first 10 years of her life in solitude. When she finally escaped she grew to have a fascination with keys, because they represented another step forward into the unfamiliar world. As luck would have it, she came across a demonic weapon named Flament Nagel, who she instantly fell in love with because he happened to be shaped like a giant key. Renaming him Paracelsus, she roams the world looking for a way to transfer his consciousness into a new body, all while using him as a weapon. This is actually pretty straightforward storytelling by Guilty Gear standards.

She first appeared in the non-canon spin-off Guilty Gear Isuka in 2003, and later reappeared in 2005 for XX Slash. Other than smacking mfs with her demon ax key boyfriend, she's known for her creepy appearance and anxious demeanour, as well asssually wearing little more than bandages over her body. In Strive, her hair's slightly longer than before and is now green instead of red. She still looks pretty hot, and her combat animations are full of personality, even by Guilty Gear standards.

You can expect to see A.B.A in Strive on March 26, just a few days away. What do you think of her? Are you hyped to see her in-game? Sound off below!
