Between The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, Visions and most recently Kenobi, Star Wars' reputation has recovered a fair bit since the hot mess that was the sequel trilogy. Visions in particular let Japanese anime studios put their own unique twists on the galaxy far, far away and fans seemed to live every episode of the anthology. Naturally, Disney plan to bring it back.
At the Star Wars Celebration event this past weekend in Anaheim, Lucasfilm announced Visions will be getting a Volume 2 in the new year. Senior Vice President of Franchise Content & Strategy said: "I can guarantee everyone in this room that Star Wars and anime have a very bright future.”
However, the next season of Visions may not be as anime as the first. The first had several Japanese studios, such as Trigger, Kamikaze Douga and Production I.G create their own shorts, while the second will be more of an international affair. No names have been announced just yet, but animation studios from India, South Africa, Spain, South Korea, the UK, Chile, Ireland, France as well as Japan will be involved in the anthology.
Volume 2 of Star Wars: Visions will be out next Spring. Have you seen the first series? What did you think? Are you looking forward to more? Drop your thoughts below!
