Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Live-Action Has Found its Shadow

When we first saw the initial trailer for Paramount's Sonic the Hedgehog adaptation all those years ago, nobody could have predicted that it would become a full-on trilogy, with a spinoff series to boot. But a lot's changed since then, which we've already discussed plenty already, but as we prepare for the third movie in the series we now have an idea of what to expect from it.

Recently, Sega announced the "Fearless: Year of Shadow" promotional campaign, celebrating everyone's favorite edgelord hedgehog. Coincidentally, 2022's Sonic the Hedgehog 2 included a post-credit scene teasing the appearance of Shadow himself in the next movie, as is common in cinema these days. It's now been confirmed by Hollywood Reporter that Shadow in Sonic 3, in case you haven't figured it out yet, will be voiced by none other than Keanu Reeves, who was fancasted as Shadow pretty heavily

I'll be honest: Keanu has never been a good actor. Kids these days mainly know him as John Wick or Johnny Silverhand, but before all that (and before Kristen Stewart came along in Twilight) most memes about actors who suck were about the man behind Neo and Theodore Logan. That's not to say he won't do a good job, since all he'll likely have to do is growl and say "damn" a lot, but I'm curious to see how he fits the role. A lot of people thought Idris Elba wouldn't fit Knuckles in Sonic 2 and he killed it in the final movie.

Idris Elba is returning as Knuckles along with Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Collean O' Shaughnessy as Tails, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik and more reprising their roles from the previous movies. Additionally, Krysten Ritter (Jane in Breaking Bad) and The Lonely Island's Jorma Taccone (Hitler in Kung Fury) are among the new cast members whose roles are yet undisclosed.

Hopefully a trailer will drop before long so we can see Keanu's Shadow voice in its full glory. And I've heard rumors Krysten Ritter will be playing Rouge and that is something I'd pay to see if true. What do you guys think? Will Keanu do a good job as Shadow?
