Sega's Next Live-Action Project is Streets of Rage

It was only a matter of time after Sonic and its sequel did fairly well at the box office that Sega would attempt to give another of their classic IPs the live-action treatment. But other than Sonic, what else do they have? Yakuza? That already had a movie in 2007.Shenmue? That's got an anime in the works, but no-one wants to watch a guy drive a forklift and play with gachapon machines for two hours. What about the classic Genesis beat-em-up Streets of Rage

Known as Burning Knuckle in Japan, the series' fourth title released in 2020  paid homage to its retro roots with a slick modern feel. Rumors reported by Deadline allege that a script based on the games has already been optioned, written by Derek Kolstad. Kolstad is the writer for the John Wick series, the Bob Odenkirk movie Nobody and an upcoming adaptation of Just Cause starring Jason Momoa, so as far as action goes this is probably in safe hands. Assuming it gets made, that is.

It'll be interesting to see how this pans out, especially with the guy behind John Wick supposedly involved. What do you guys think? Who would you cast as Axel, Adam or Blaze? Let us know below!
