2020's Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin had an interesting mix of gameplay. For half of the game you're a goddess slaying demons with hack-n-slash platformer type gameplay. For the other half you grow rice, interact with villagers, and prepare for the next day of demon-slaying. It offered two seemingly disparate styles of gameplay that complimented each other, but how would it work if it wasn't a game? We'll find that out before long.
Toho Animation announced they're producing an anime based on the works in collaboration with P.A. Works, the studio behind Buddy Daddies, Sirius the Jaeger and Uma Musume Pretty Derby. Voice actors confirmed include Naomi Oozora (Hana Uzaki in Uzaki-chan Wants ot Hang Out!), Takashi Narumi (Gastric Chief Cell in Cells at Work! Codw Black), Rika Kinugawa (Yuugiri in Zombieland Saga), and Ryota Yano (Iwatetsu Kurata in Monster Retsuden Oreca Battle), among a few more. Here's the initial teaser:
