Persona 3 Reload & Persona 5 Tactica Confirmed, But There is Another...

After the leaks earlier, Atlus have indeed officially revealed Persona 3 Reload, the much-awaited remake of the classic 2006 game, and Persona 5 Tactica, a new tactical spin-off game, at Xbox's showcase. Reload is, as expected, a ground-up remake of the original, and while it'll have both an English and Japanese dub it won't contain content from FES or Portable. But that's not all Atlus had up their sleeves at the showcase.

The announcement we never saw coming is Metaphor: ReFantazio, a brand new game from Atlus' Studio Zero, whose only work to date is Catherine: Full Body. Created by a team of Persona/Shin Megami Tensei veterans including director Katsura Hoshino, character designer Shigenori Soejima and composser Shoji Meguro, Metaphor an RPG set in an original fantasy world with no connections to SMT.

This was originally teased as Project Re Fantasy 5 years aho, with a bizarre trailer that looked like footage of a LARP session. Now rebranded as Metaphor: ReFantazio, we can definitely see a lot of inspiration from Persona, including the art style, UI, bonding with party members, turn-based combat and Tokyo, but with the fantasy dialled up to 11. And it seems to imply the real world exists in parallel to this fantasy world, which sounds like a neat twist as long is it isn't just a reverse isekai situation.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is out some time next year, and Atlus will reveal more information in a stream on June 20. Do you guys think it'll catch on? Sound off below!
