One Piece is Getting an Anime Remake

As if Netflix launching the live-action adaptation of One Piece (now seen as one of the best live-action manga adaptations to come from Hollywood) and announcing it's getting a second season wasn't enough, they've also announced that they're gonna release a brand new anime adaptation starting from the very beginning.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original One Piece anime, it was revealed at Jump Festa '24 that a new anime is in the works from Wit Studio, the people behind Spy x FamilyRanking of Kings, and the upcoming Suicide Squad Isekai series, who will be working with Netflix plus the One Piece production committee, a joint effort between the OG anime's production studio Toei Animation, as well as Shueisha and Fuji Television Network.

The new series, simply called The One Piece, we know that it'll start from the East Blue arc, or the very first arc of the original that the Netflix series also began with, though we don't know yet how it'll differ from any of the other adaptations. The early seasons of the original version are pretty rough compared to the later ones, so it'll be cool to get a higher quality retelling that may also streamline some of the many filler arcs the original is known for. Here's the announcement trailer for a better look:
