Nintendo Weren't Prepared for Horniness on New Pokémon Forum
By Yung Namahage • 9 months ago

You'd think by now Nintendo would know a thing or two about the Pokémon fanbase. No, it's not all zoomers that are into it but 90s kids that are now grown-ass adults, who may have kids of their own they've introduced to the series. Or grown-ass adults that happen to be furries (open or not) that want to fuck the Pokémon. Well, if they didn't know then, they certainly do now.

The Pokémon Company launched an official forum a couple days ago on July 4, a place where fans can discuss the card game, anime, video games, Pokémon themselves and everything else about the franchise, within reason. But when have gamers ever been reasonable? Oh no, within hours of opening the forums were filled with with people professing their fantasies about trainers, certain Pokémon, or certain body parts of certain Pokémon

Last one has a point at least

Not all posters were perverted at least. Some were just curious about Pokémon operating heavy machinery. Unless that's also a sex thing? You can't be too careful these days. The site's rules say “Pokémon is for everyone! We want to make sure everyone feels welcome, and that means keeping content clean, inclusive, and for all ages.” Yeah, about that...

It seems The Pokémon Company caught on soon enough. NSFW threads were quickly removed and repeat offenders were IP-banned, and presumably the novelty wore off for trolls. For now, the site seems to be back to normal, with people having generally safe, if comparitively boring, conversations about the franchise. Check it out if you want, but please try to keep things PG. There may be kids watching, after all.

What do you guys think of this? Should Nintendo have known about how thirsty the Pokémon fandom is? Or are they in the wrong for expecting better? Let us know in the comments!
