Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Removes Jenny Line Reminiscent of Zone Hentai

"Platform fighters," or Smash Bros. clones, are becoming more common these days. Brawlhalla has been going strong for years, Warner Brothers just dropped a new trailer for their Multiversus endeavour, and Nickelodeon's own All-Star Brawl recently revealed a trio of DLC characters: Rocko of Modern Life fame, Jimmy Neutron's dad Hugh and Jenny Wakeman from My Life as a Teenage Robot. The former two are coming later this year, while Jenny is available to download right now.

MLAATR is a show about a cute superpowered robot girl that originally aired from 2003-2009. These days, Jenny is known for the masses of fanart and R34 she inspired, most infamously a 2010 parody animation by the one and only Zone-Sama wherein she gets gangbanged by rock monsters. In Zone's video, she says to the rock monsters "You wouldn't like my body! It's all circuity and metallic!" This is a reference to a line she says to a villain in the original show, which is almost the same word-for-word but she's talking about her brain rather than her body. The original line made it into All-Star Brawl as one of Jenny's pre-fight quotes, except it's making people online think of Zone's parody instead of the show it came from.

Thaddeus Crews, character designer and programmer for All-Star Brawl, was eventually made aware of the line's lewd connotations via Twitter, and said in a (now deleted) tweet: "While it's a line from the show, it has unfortunate implications by proxy, as such we'll be removing it." He added in the game's Discord server: "If you ever wanted a concise example of how spread out and not on the same page this project is: here you go. Most likely someone on the team did know what they were doing by adding it".

This isn't the first time Zone's video has caused problems for Nickelodeon. A few years ago Nick's parent company Viacom hit a heavily edited version of the parody uploaded by Zone on YouTube with a manual copyright claim, and when Zone disputed the takedown by pointing out it's an original animation they rejected the dispute and claimed the video as their own, even making money off ad revenue from it. Depending on who you ask, the original IP holders also owning the porn parody means Jenny's rock monster gangbang is now canon.
