Lollipop Chainsaw Remake Confirmed, But There's a Catch
By Yung Namahage • 2 years ago

They Lollipop Chainsaw news from the other day had a lot of people guessing just what it means for the 2012 cult classic hack-n'-slash. Now it's finally confirmed Juliet Starling will return in a full remake of the game, but not all fans are happy.

Apparently, original director Suda51 and writer James Gunn are not involved in this remake, with both only finding out about the project a few weeks ago. This does make sense since both creators are working on bigger & better things these days and the remake will be developed by Dragami Games and not Suda's Grasshopper Manufacture studio, although some staff from Grasshopper such as the original game's exec. producer Yoshimi Yasuda will be staying on for the remake. Original publishers Warner Bros. will be supporting them in some capacity.

It seems a few parts of the game will change somewhat, and not just to adapt the game to newer systems. The soundtrack is one of the biggest areas to change, possibly because they couldn't retain the license for most of the 15 licensed songs used in the initial game, and possibly because it turned out original soundtrack composer James Euringer AKA Jimmy Urine of Mindless Self Indulgence is a bit of a sex pest. This means that other than a few licensed songs returning, the soundtrack will be pretty different this time around.

No platforms have been named just yet, but we do know Lollipop Chainsaw's remake is out sometime next year. Have you played the original? Are you down for a remake? Let us know below!
