Bandai Namco have shown some of the new content coming to their remaster of 2013's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fighting game All-Star Battle. On top of including every character from the original ASB plus DLC (including Araki's pre-JoJo manga protagonist Baoh) with updated voices and color schemes to match those of the anime, there'll be nine new additions to the roster.
The latest trailer shows four newcomers, including Speedwagon and his razor hat from Phantom Blood, magnetic assassin waifu Mariah and fearsome falcon Pet Shop from Stardust Crusaders, and Dio's alternate universe horse jockey counterpart Diego Brando from Steel Ball Run. While these characters weren't in the original version of the game they were all in the subsequent 3D JoJo brawler Eyes of Heaven, and knowing CyberConnect 2 they'll most likely reuse their attacks and animations from EoH. Still, better to be in a 1-on-1 fighter than a 2-on-2 team brawler if you ask me.
The game is also getting a collector's edition that includes a cool 10" statue of Jolyne and a costume pack featuring special white costumes for the first five JoJos inspired by the recent Animation Special Event. Preorders will also get a Green Dolphin Street Prison jacket costume for Jolyne, which Eyes of Heaven had for free, funnily enough.
Preorders are open now for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R, which is on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Switch on September 2, while Steam users get it a day earlier. Will you be checking it out? Let us know below!
