No lie, earlier today I was out for a walk and got stopped by a Korean guy named Charles who wanted to talk to me about the Gospel of "Jejus," as he called Him. For what's seen as a (relatively) western religion, Christianity has been around the Far East for centuries thanks to colonialism, and that includes Japan. While Christians are still a minority there, and their beliefs may different from Christians around the world, now and then they put a distincty Japanese twist on their religion. For example anime waifus spreading the Word of the Lord via the medium of ASMR.

That's what the aptly named ASMR Church does on YouTube. The channel's description reads: "A cyber church that evangelizes Christianity through ASMR. A cute voice actor will soothe you by reading the Bible in a whisper. Perfect for those who want to learn about Christianity as part of their education! Also for mental recovery! Listen to it whenever you like, such as while sleeping or taking a walk!"

Their videos are based on Calvinis, and they're currently at over 6K subscriber andalmost 700 videos with various voiceover artists covering both the Old and New Testaments, most of which have anime thumbnails that may or may not be original. They're also fairly active on Twitter, as well as other websites.

If you wish to pay tithes to the ASMR Church, they have a page on DLsite for that purpose. The same DLsite full of doujins and eroge, but maybe it's an attempt to proselytize to even the most degenerate of weebs. It's all fun and games until someone decides to lewd their cute blonde mascot character. Also, like any church worth their salt, they also have merch.

American Christianity is best summed up by those huge arena-sized megachurches and pastors getting the rockstar treatment, so it makes sense that the humble anime girl has been chosen to represent Christianity in Japan.
