Jamie Lee Curtis Wants to be Kureha in Netflix's One Piece

It's always cool to see celebrities geek out over anime, but I never would've predicted that Jamie Lee Curtis of all people would be a weeb. Turns out the 63-year-old Halloween and Knives Out star is a big fan of One Piece in particular, even attending the LA premiere of the Gold movie a few years ago.

More recently, she spoke about the series at the recent Academy Awards, hours before the fateful Slap Incident occurred. On the red carpet, she told hosts Emily Uribe and Juju Green that her favorite character was Tony Tony Chopper and that she'd love to play Nico Robin, but admitted she's probably too old at this point. Then she mentioned the "wizened old crone" Kureha, who her daughter Ruby Guest said she'd be a perfect fit for.

Kureha being a fiercely protective maternal figure isn't too dissimilar to what Curtis' character Laurie Strode turned into in 2018's Halloween. And with the long hair and glasses she even kinda looks the part. I mean, more than she looks like Tannis from Borderlands, who she actually is playing in the upcoming movie adaptation, but that's neither here nor there.

Do you think Jamie Lee Curtis would make a good Kureha? Could you see her younger self as Robin? Cos she had it going on back in the day. Let us know in the comments!
