I Wish Hentai Had JAV Codes

It’s 2008. Yikes, economic PTSD for a lot of people. Don’t worry I’m not talking about the housing crisis, I’m more so interested in covering a similarly devastating phenomenon that happened all the time in the earlier days of hentai video hunting. As many of you know in the younger days of the internet, it was much more common to find a fantastic hentai production only to lose track of it to the sands of time. Whether it be because our younger selves didn’t understand the value of preservation, or just that the internet in general was a lot less user friendly and navigable back then, either way tons of people would constantly lose access to their favorite porn.

Today, I’m proud to say that I haven’t lost track of a JAV (Japanese Adult Video) in years now. Why? Part of it is because as time goes on a video is uploaded to multiple competing sites so even if it’s deleted, you can find it once more assuming you know the name. And secondly, I always know the name thanks to the fucking fantastic JAV naming system. You see, every Japanese porn video that’s professionally produced has a code attached to it. Something like BBAN-145. The letters at the front indicate which studio it’s from, and the numbers… well they make a unique code. I’m not sure if they actually have a meaning they indicate like the 145th video produced by the studio, but my point is when I find a porn I love, all I need to do is jot down the JAV code in a text file somewhere. Boom. Even if the site I’m using has to take down the video or is entirely nuked from orbit, as long as I have the proper code, chances are I’ll be able to find that bad boy SOMEWHERE on the vast digital sea. Honestly I wish hentai nowadays could follow this format. All too often a hentai video I like is named “Dangerous Dicking 4: A Sexy Heroine Finds Herself Duped And Dicked By Space Bandits'' and let me be honest when a title is that generic I forget it entirely minutes after cumming. While strides have been made in terms of hentai preservation, having a code system helps so much for my organizational brain and helps me sleep with peace of mind that I won’t be losing any favorites anytime soon.

"Yessir, the archive isn't missing a single video. All codes accounted for."

Maybe nowadays with how many competing sites and offerings are out there, this isn’t a big concern for many people. But for anyone who has experienced the pain of losing a top tier hentai, they know this suffering is its own unique sadness. Have you ever lost track of a favorite porn video? Do you think the JAV naming system is a big help? Are you ready for Dangerous Dicking 5?
