Has Marvelous Forgotten About Senran Kagura?

Video game developer and publisher Marvelous, Inc, best known for titles like Rune FactoryStory of Seasons and of course the Senran Kagura franchise, recently announced a few structural changes as the company plans to expand.

Going forward, subsidiary XSEED Games will publish third-party games as they have in the past with the Ys series, No More Heroes and non-Marvelous Senran Kagura games. Meanwhile, Marvelous USA will be handling first-party games, such as the company's first western project, the card-based arcade game Naruto Emblem Battle, which is being rolled out in arcades in the US. They even published a graphic alongside the announcement, showing which IPs will belong to which subsidiary, but one is noticably missing.

There are some recognizable games and some which you may not have heard of before, but where is Senran Kagura, one of Marvelous' signature franchises? Granted, the last Senran Kagura game was the crossover with Hyperdimension Neptunia that released 3 years ago and the last one that wasn't a spin-off or remake was Peach Beach Splash in 2017, but the series also crossed over with both Azur Lane and Dolphin Wave within the last year. Not to mention the next major game in the series, Senran Kagura 7EVEN, has been in development hell due to censorship concerns for years and will possibly never see the light of day.

Unfortunately, this isn't good news for fans of big tiddy kunoichi, but here's hoping Marvelous really aren't trying to forget or distance themselves from Senran Kagura and we'll hear something soon.

Do you guys think 7EVEN or another new Senran Kagura game will be released eventually? Leave your thoughts below!
