For a creator, being acknowledged by one of your biggest inspirations must feel like a dream come true. That's how Kim Hyung Tae, founder  of Shift Up, must be geeling right about now.

The MagnaCarta and Blade & Soul artist has been open about how his latest game, Stellar Blade, takes influence from Nier Automata and its creator Yoko Taro, in case the thicc android protagonist didn't give it away already. It turns out Taro is not only aware of Stellar Blade, but is looking forward to it himself. In an interview with 4Gamer.net, he said:

“I was suprized how amazing his new work Stellar Blade is. It’s a dreamlike product where you can do action battles with extremely high quality 3D graphics while keeping the beautiful girl characters of Kim Hyung Tae. I can’t help but look forward to its release.”

Having played the demo of Stellar Blade, the premise and presentation do have a lot in common with Nier Automata, but it's far from a ripoff. The combat itself feels less Platinum and more FromSoft, and protagonist Eve is pretty different to 2B. Still, fans of Nier Automata are likely to enjoy Stellar Blade, and not just cos of Eve's beautiful buttcheeks.

Stellar Blade is out on PS5 on April 26. Have you played the demo yet? Will you be getting it when it drops? Let us know below!
