Remember when Dead or Alive was a fighting game series? After trying to jump back in the fighting game ring in 2019 with DoA 6 and canceling Code Chronos, a prequel based on the backstories of Ayane and Kasumi, in 2020, Team Ninja seem determined to keep it around as Dead or Alive Xtreme, the fanservice-fuelled waifuthon spin-off series that's basically become more popular than the original fighting game series. The last we saw of the series was Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet in 2019, which itself was a rerelease of 2016's DoaX 3 and was only released in Asia. Luckily, Koei Tecmo have announced their next title in the Dead or Alive Xtreme subseries.
Venus Vacation Prism: Dead or Alive Xtreme is as far removed as it can get from the original series by name alone. This time around it's a full-on 3D first-person dating sim or "immersive romantic adventure", complete with everything you'd come to expect from DoAX. Jiggle physics, fanservice, bikinis, minigames including volleyball, and of course DoA waifus. The only character confirmed so far is Misaki, who you can see in the reveal trailer:
Venus Vacation Prism: Dead or Alive Xtreme is set to launch early 2025 on PS4, PS5 and PC. Are you looking forward to a new Dead or Alive Xtreme? Or would you prefer a new Dead or Alive fighting game at this point? Let us know below!
